Overview: Ancient Stones stemmed from our want to break up our catalog of sleek minimal designs with something fun and cartoon like. The initial inspiration was art from games like Wind Waker, Breath of the Wild, and Borderlands.

Challenge: Design a unique PC with a cartoon art style to stick out from our lineup.

Results: I knew from the beginning I wanted there to be some sort of magic aspect to the case which is where the idea for the large rune came about. The colorways of the lineup started from trying to establish some lore around the computer. I thought up this lore that these different stone structures possessed great power because of the enchanted rune that could make possible whatever the possessor of the structure wanted. These structures would be located in different biomes in the world as hinted by the names of each computer: Jade Forest for Green Stone, Dark Moor for Black Stone, and Ice Cavern for White Stone. This project was fun as it sticks out from the crowd as none of our competitors are doing anything similar and it gave me a chance to flex my illustration muscles.

Animated Header: This serves as the background for the product. It features floating rocks influenced by the magical rune embedded on the mountain peak. That rune is the same rune featured on the PC case.

Design: We knew the direction of this product was supposed to be more cartoon like so I opted for hard shadow and bold highlights.

Mario Day 2022: The previous limited edition at the time (Black Lotus), included a super limited variant called "Year of the Tiger" to corroborate with Chinese New Year 2022. We wanted to design a special "holiday" design for all of our limited editions and Mario Day happened to be the most upcoming holiday so I designed 2 new variants based of the classic Mario level schemes promptly named "Overworld" and "Underworld".
